Interviewer – How did your journey in music begin? Can you remember the moment you realized you wanted to pursue this professionally?

Alus – My journey in music began early, inspired by my grandmother and father, who were both passionate about music. My grandmother was a professionally trained violinist who went to Juilliard and toured the world and my dad plays drums and trumpet. Watching them inspired me. I started classical vocal training at age 11, but always like to joke that I came out of the womb singing. Music isn’t something I just like, I love it.

Interviewer – Who are some of your biggest musical influences, and how have they shaped your sound and style?

Alus – I find inspiration from everything and everyone. My favorite vocalist growing up was Mariah Carey, I used to mimic her runs on my karaoke machine as a kid. Lately, I’m more inspired by what I don’t like, believe it or not. I want to create and fill the void for the music that I think is missing in today’s musical landscape.

Interviewer – When it comes to songwriting, whats your creative process like? Do you start with lyrics, a melody, or something else?

Alus – My songwriting process is fluid. I like to think I’m a vessel for something above to communicate through me. I usually freestyle melodies and words fall out of my mouth when I’m recording in my home studio. Half the time, I never realize where it comes from. I feel like I’m vibrating on a higher frequency whenever I’m writing.

Interviewer – What personal experiences or emotions influence your music the most?

Alus – My music is influenced by personal experiences. I also draw from my family’s musical background and the strength of women in my life. These emotions and experiences help me write songs that are genuine and relatable, connecting with listeners on a personal level.

Interviewer – As a singer, songwriter, musician, and producer, how do you balance all of these roles in your projects?

Alus – Balancing all these roles involves good planning and time management. I focus on one role at a time when working on a project. Each role overlaps and supports the others, so I switch between them as needed. Staying organized and passionate helps me handle singing, songwriting, and producing efficiently.

Interviewer – What is it like to produce your own music? Do you find it liberating to have full control, or is it sometimes overwhelming?

Alus – Rich Harrison is my production partner. I’m so excited for everyone to hear what we’ve been working on!

Interviewer – Are there any artists or producers you dream of collaborating with in the future? Why do you feel connected to their work?

Alus –  I’m grateful to say I’m working with my dream producer now! Shout out to Rich Harrison.

Interviewer – Whats the biggest challenge youve faced in the music industry, and how did you overcome it?

Alus – The biggest challenge has been standing out in a crowded industry. I overcome this by staying true to my unique sound and building a loyal fanbase. I focus on making music that reflects who I am and work hard to connect with my audience, which helps me rise above the competition.

Interviewer – How do you feel your music has evolved, from your early releases to now?

Alus – My music has evolved to be more mature and polished. Over time, I’ve improved my songwriting and production skills, leading to a more refined and sophisticated sound. This growth is reflected in my newer releases, showing my development as an artist.

Interviewer – Is there a particular message or theme that you hope to communicate through your music to your listeners?

Alus – I hope to convey messages of empowerment and self-discovery through my music. I want my songs to inspire listeners, especially women, to feel strong and confident. Themes of love, resilience, and personal growth are central to my music, helping listeners connect with and find strength in my songs.

Interviewer – How do you handle criticism, whether its from fans, the industry, or yourself?

Alus – handle criticism by viewing it as a chance to grow. I listen carefully to feedback, whether from fans or the industry and use it to improve my work. While it can be tough, I stay focused on my goals and trust my vision. Constructive criticism helps me refine my music and performance.

Interviewer – Have you ever experienced creative blocks? If so, how do you overcome them and stay inspired?

Alus – Yes, I’ve had creative blocks. To overcome them, I take breaks and try new experiences. I listen to different music or explore new environments to find fresh inspiration. Changing my routine often helps me get back on track and spark new ideas for my music.

Interviewer – What has been your experience as a woman in the music industry, and what advice would you give to other young women pursuing music?

Alus – Being a woman in the music industry has its challenges, but it’s also empowering. My advice is to stay determined, trust your instincts, and don’t let obstacles deter you. Keep working hard and stay true to your artistic vision. Confidence and persistence are key to success.

Interviewer – Out of all the songs and albums youve worked on, do you have a favorite project or track that holds a special place in your heart?

Alus – My favorite song I’ve worked on is coming out soon. I’m so excited for everyone to hear it!

Interviewer – Where do you see your career headed in the next few years? Are any exciting projects or goals on the horizon?

Alus – In the next few years, I see my career growing internationally. I plan to release new music, collaborate with other artists, and continue expanding my fanbase. I’m excited about upcoming projects and opportunities to further develop my music and reach a global audience.
