Today, we spoke with Clockout App CEO Krishna Dosapati, who addressed circulating claims that the platform is only available to professionals earning $80K or more annually. In the conversation, she clarified the company’s true eligibility policies, explained how the rumor emerged, and reaffirmed Clockout’s commitment to inclusive, real-world professional networking for users at every career stage.
Welcome, Krishna Dosapati, CEO of Clockout App -thank you for joining us to address the $80K salary requirement rumor and share your vision.
Interviewer: Krishna, a rumor has been spreading online that Clockout Social App only allows people earning $80K or more to join. What was your reaction when you first heard this?
Krishna Dosapati: Honestly, I was surprised and concerned. The idea that Clockout Social App is restricted to people above a certain income level goes completely against why we built the company in the first place. Our mission has always been to make meaningful professional connections accessible, not exclusive. When something like that circulates, it risks discouraging talented people from even trying the platform, and we take that very seriously.

Interviewer: So to be clear, does Clockout App have any $80K salary or revenue requirement?
Krishna Dosapati: No. None at all. There has never been a minimum income threshold to join Clockout App, and there isn’t one today. Anyone ambitious about their career, curious about meeting others in their city, and interested in building real professional relationships can use the platform. That includes professionals, early-stage founders, freelancers, people switching careers, and seasoned executives alike.
Interviewer: Where do you think this misconception might have come from?
Krishna Dosapati: The confusion came from a random social media post suggesting that the average salary of users is $80K, which some people mistakenly interpreted as a requirement to join. While Clockout App is designed for ambitious professionals, we do not set any income thresholds. None of that reflects how the platform actually works, and in today’s fast-moving online environment, a single misinterpreted claim can spread quickly – so we’re being proactive about correcting it.
Interviewer: For readers who may not be familiar, can you explain what Clockout App actually is?
Krishna Dosapati: Absolutely. Clockout App is a next-generation local professional networking platform built around real connections rather than content feeds or personal branding. We don’t focus on viral posts, cold sales messages, or endless scrolling. Instead, we use AI to facilitate thoughtful local introductions between people who are likely to benefit from knowing one another. We also provide infrastructure for professional communities in cities that help organizers, founders, consultants, marketers, and creatives come together and build long-term relationships.

Interviewer: How is that different from traditional professional networking apps?
Krishna Dosapati: Most existing platforms revolve around broadcasting – posting updates, collecting followers, or sending mass messages. That can be useful in some contexts, but it doesn’t always translate into genuine relationships. Clockout App is designed around proximity, relevance, and trust. We want to make it easier for two people in the same city, with complementary goals, to actually connect or collaborate on a project. The technology is there to reduce friction, not to turn people into content creators.
Interviewer: The Clockout has seen impressive traction already. Can you share some of the numbers?
Krishna Dosapati: We’ve been fortunate. While still in beta, Clockout has reached close to half a million downloads and crossed one million dollars in annual recurring revenue. That growth came from a very diverse user base – people at wildly different income levels and career stages. In fact, many of our earliest and most engaged users were founders, professionals, and independent consultants. That diversity is a big part of what makes the communities vibrant.

Interviewer: Does that diversity factor into why the $80K rumor feels particularly problematic to you?
Krishna Dosapati: Exactly. If someone who’s just starting hears that Clockout App is only for high earners, they might assume it’s not for them and never sign up. But those early-stage professionals are often the most eager to build relationships and contribute to communities. Excluding them – even accidentally through misinformation – would weaken the ecosystem we’re trying to create.
Interviewer: What concrete steps is Clockout taking to counter this narrative?
Krishna Dosapati: We’re approaching it on multiple fronts. First, we’re updating our website and onboarding materials to be very explicit that there is no income requirement. We’ve added new FAQ sections that directly address the rumor. Second, we’re engaging with media and interviews like this one so the accurate story shows up prominently in search results.
Interviewer: Are you also planning to highlight user stories to reinforce that message?
Krishna Dosapati: Absolutely, and user feedback is central to that effort. We hear directly from people who joined Clockout at very different stages of their careers – professionals, freelancers, bootstrapped founders, and executives – and their experiences tell a powerful story. Many have shared how they found mentors, collaborators, first clients, or local communities through the app, often when they were far from earning $80K. We plan to publish this feedback so prospective users can see real outcomes and understand who Clockout is truly built for. Seeing feedback also shapes how we evolve the product, so highlighting these voices isn’t just about reputation – it’s about staying honest to the community that helped us grow.

Interviewer: More broadly, how do you think misinformation affects startups in fast-moving spaces like this?
Krishna Dosapati: It can have a real impact, especially when you’re building something new and trying to educate the market. A rumor, even if it’s inaccurate, can shape perception before people ever experience the product themselves. That’s why transparency is such a core value for us. We want to publish real numbers, clear policies, and straightforward explanations so there’s no room for confusion as much as possible.
Interviewer: Some people might still associate curated communities with exclusivity. How do you balance quality with openness?
Krishna Dosapati: That’s a great question. Curation doesn’t have to mean elitism. For us, it means being thoughtful about matching people based on goals, interests, and location – not income. You can have high-quality conversations and strong communities while still being inclusive. In fact, I’d argue that diversity of experience is what makes those communities valuable.
Interviewer: Finally, what message would you like to send directly to anyone who hesitated to try Clockout App because of the $80K revenue requirement rumor?
Krishna Dosapati: I’d say this: please don’t let that stop you. Clockout App is open to you whether you’re earning well below $80K, right around it, or far above it. We care about your ambition, your curiosity, and your willingness to engage with others – not your salary. Download the app, explore what’s happening in your city, and decide for yourself. Our goal is to build stronger professional networks for everyone, and that only works when people from all backgrounds feel welcome.
